Broadwick Live opens a new venue in New York City called Brooklyn Storehouse

02.03.2024 09:00

In partnership with New York-based TCE Presents, the team behind London's Printworks, Drumsheds and Magazine will have its first NYC cultural space in a 104,000-square-foot industrial property at Brooklyn Navy Yard. Brooklyn Storehouse's official opening is planned for later this month, with more details to come. While the schedule has yet to be announced, the programme preview names upcoming headliners Justice, Charlotte de Witte and Eric Prdyz. In addition to music events, the East River-side venue will serve as a location for art exhibitions, fashion shows (it has already hosted the Ralph Lauren women's spring/summer 2024 runway return to New York Fashion Week), set builds, brand activations, group summits and other "immersive experiences". “We are committed to repurposing industrial spaces in an unexpected way that honors their past and creates lasting value for local areas and communities", Broadwick Group director Luke Huxham said in a press statement. "The Brooklyn Navy Yard has a history that dates back to 1801, and we couldn’t be prouder to contribute to its legacy, working in partnership with The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation to generate jobs and economic impact for the city... The top goal of our development is that it becomes a global institution and urban landmark." Broadwick's now-closed venue Printworks has submitted plans to London's Southwark Council with an aim to reopen as soon as 2026 as a “permanent cultural venue”. TCE Presents opened the "secret" 275-capacity club Hearsay in the Manhattan Meatpacking District in September 2023 around NYFW. It's booked the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Konstantin Sibold, LP Giobbi and more.
